Joe Shores started Select Specialty Managers, LLC in May of 2007. Prior to joining W. R. Berkley Corporation, Joe was responsible for regional Specialty Lines underwriting operations for another leading national property and causalty insurer, including the executive management of a $300M Profesional Liability operation concentrated in Lawyers Profesisonal Liability products and programs. He has over 19 years of experience in the insurance industry with significant specialty, professinal liability and excess lines experience.

We have assembled a team of experts with ovwer 90 years of combined insurance industry experience with specific emphasis on Professional Liability. Select Specialty Managers employs integrated individual risk underwriting, loss control and claims practices to provide superior products and services to its customers.
Our clients have access to a creative team of dedicated underwriters and the resources of W. R. Berkley Corporation. Select Specialty Managers underwrites on behalf of Nautilus Insurance Company, which carries an A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior) and a Financial Size Category of IX, as well as a Standard & Poor's Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Strong). By focusing on our specialty niches and partnering with a small distribution force, Select Specialty is able to provide innovative and timely solutions to the complex needs of its customers.
