Company Description
American Mining Insurance Company began operation in 1989 as a specialty carrier offering workers’ compensation, general liability, automobile, pollution and umbrella coverages to qualified mining and mining related accounts. During the early 1990’s, the Company began offering claims adjusting services to self-insured mining firms and other organizations through an affiliated company. As the Company grew and matured, it remained focused on its mission.
Since becoming a W. R. Berkley Corporation member company in 2007, American Mining has doubled its operating territory, introduced preferred and large deductible rating plans, focused on improved ease of doing business procedures, made significant new investments in technology and added additional experienced management staff. American Mining’s commitment to the mining sector remains unwavering as it continues to expand its geographic footprint and product offerings.
How American Mining Insurance Group is Different
Our business philosophy stresses industry expertise, an ease of doing business culture, and the rapid, reasonable and fair settlement of claims. American Mining’s flexible monthly workers’ compensation premium payment plan is unique in the insurance industry.
In 2011, American Mining introduced an automated premium billing program which calculates workers’ compensation premium from actual payroll records in real time, thus eliminating the variable of a large additional premium at policy audit and improving the insured’s cash flow.
Distribution
American Mining distributes its products through a network of local independent insurance agents and a small group of wholesale brokers who understand and support our value proposition to the mining industry.
